Demetrius Thornton is Founder and CEO of Limmor Group, LLC a multimedia educational startup company dedicated to workforce development solutions and economic mobility opportunities. Prior to leading Limmor Group he was a human resources and strategic operations executive for both private and government sectors. A change agent for more than fifteen years, Demetrius guides organizations through transitions to unlock business and people performance goals while building workforce systems that foster business growth and sustainable talent development outcomes.

An accomplished leader across various industries, he served as Senior Vice President, Global Talent Management for the Madison Square Garden Entertainment family of companies where he achieved a 30% improvement in employee satisfaction scores and established the first ever talent strategy which improved employee skill advancement by 20%. In this role, he led the enterprise talent and inclusion organization spanning companies’ non-profit foundation, diversity and inclusion, global learning solutions, performance management and workforce planning. Prior to joining MSG, he was Vice President of Global Diversity and Inclusion at Credit Suisse Bank, where he created D&I programs, talent development initiatives, and advised C-Suite executives on external communication strategies for the firm globally.

 

During his time in public service, he served as senior advisor for New York City government advising municipal leaders on budget allocation of more than $1 billion operating budget and the administrative policies for the City’s 300,000 employees.

Demetrius was also leader of New York’s premier historic house, Gracie Mansion, residence of the Mayor and First Lady of New York where he led public/private partnerships, people operations, and community programming experiences increasing public visitation by 150%. Before entering public service, he was a human capital and talent management expert across hospitality, media, and retail industries where he partnered with business leaders to enhance employee capability strategies to meet business goals.

Demetrius is an adjunct professor at NYU’s Preston Robert Tisch Institute for Global Sport. He is a frequent speaker on workforce strategy, culture, and executive leadership topics and has spoken at Citi, JP Morgan Chase, Google, Penn State Sports Business Conference, Tennessee Valley Authority, NBA Foundation, and Teach for America.

He is a member of the Council of Urban Professionals (CUP) Alumni Board and was a 2018 Fellow. Demetrius is a graduate of Morehouse College and completed master’s studies at both Troy and Fordham University.
